Law firm marketing through monthly client newsletters
The problem
You’re a law firm wanting to market yourself by sending a meaningful monthly newsletter to your clients, but you don’t have the time to do it yourself … Or the budget to pay a specialist marketing agency to do it for you.
The solution
LawDotNews! We send a professionally written and designed newsletter, containing five carefully researched articles, to all your current and prospective clients at the beginning of every month. All you need to do is update your client database.
The newsletter is sent from your email address and is designed with POPIA and spam filters in mind. Don’t like one of the articles we’ve chosen? Replace it with something from our library of hundreds of articles – or include one of your own.

How it works
We write your newsletter
Each month LawDotNews crafts a newsletter on your behalf. The newsletter is presented on a stylish template containing your company logo, brand and contact details. And it contains five professionally written and researched articles about topical issues, available in both English and Afrikaans.
You review your newsletter
A few days before the newsletter is set to go out, you will receive a draft. If you don’t like one (or more) of the articles the team has chosen, you can swop it out for another article in the vast LawDotNews library.
We send it to your clients
Every month the newsletter will be sent (from your email address) to all the clients and prospective clients on your database. LawDotNews will help you to adhere to the POPI Act and we can also provide you with reports about how many people have opened and clicked on your newsletter.
Available in both English and Afrikaans
All our newsletter articles are available in both English and Afrikaans, with translations done by an expert Afrikaans-speaking attorney. Simply tell us your recipients’ language preferences, and we’ll deliver the right version to each person – John gets English, and Jannie gets Afrikaans!

FAQs
How do I sign up?
It’s as easy as choosing your package here. Otherwise give us a call on 021 300 5212
What do you need from me to get started?
We’ll walk you through the process when you sign up, but essentially you’ll need to send us your client mailing list; contact details for your IT people and a good quality version of your logo.
How much does it cost?
This depends on the size of your mailing list and which services you choose. Our newsletter service starts at R650 + VAT p.m. (plus a once-off sign-up fee of R1,750 + VAT.)
Will it save me time?
Yes! Once you’ve completed the set-up process, we do everything for you. Most of our clients say they spend less than 30 minutes reviewing their newsletter every month.
How do I pay?
You can either pay via debit order or by credit card.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. All of our services have a 30-day notice period.
Will the newsletter come from my email address?
Yes it will. We’ll work with your IT department to set up all the relevant permissions. We’ll also make sure it gets through spam filters.
Will it be branded for my company?
Yes! We’ll use your logo and colour palette to design a custom template for your newsletter. We’ll also include all of your company information (phone number, email address, website etc.) in the template.
How can I be sure of the quality of the articles?
Our articles are written by a team comprising some of the best legal writers and journalists in South Africa, so we are extremely confident in the quality of our copy. That said, you will get a chance to check the newsletter before it goes out to your clients.
Do I see the newsletter before it goes out to my clients?
Yes, you do! A few days before client transmission we send you a special “Attorney Version” that gives you and your staff time to read and advise on any changes, as well as see the source material for our articles.
Can I change the content in my newsletter or include content of my own?
Yes, you can! As part of our service we assign one edit request, or 30 minutes of customization time for you every month. Additional changes will cost a little extra.
How much does it cost for a bespoke article to be added to my emailer?
If you write it yourself, we’ll insert it into your newsletter free of charge. If you’d like to get one of our authors to write it for you, we’ll gladly connect you.
What kind of topics does your newsletter cover?
Our articles cover a range of legal topics—from property, estate planning and employment law to commercial issues and beyond. Topics are carefully chosen to be of interest to your current and potential clients and to encourage them to engage with you.
Can I use the content on my blog?
Yes you can. In fact, we can even upload it to your blog for a nominal fee of R330 + VAT p.m.
Will you tell me how many people have read the newsletter?
Yes, we can provide you with monthly insights into your newsletter’s performance. We typically achieve an open rate that is well above industry standard.
I have other digital marketing needs for my law firm – can you help?
Yes, certainly we can assist you! You are welcome to contact us on 021 300 5212 and we’d be glad to advise.
